This was my first time at The Bulkeley Hotel and what a pleasure it was. Formerly built to host a future queen of England and now a lovely hotel on the Isle of Anglesey. Rosie and Jonathan were amazing to work with and a real pleasure to photograph. Jonathan is the eldest of 10 siblings (a fact that still blows my mind) and it was an honor to be a part of their special day.
The day started off at Rosie’s beautiful house in Anglesey, the views from the house were stunning and a world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday city life.
Rosie is the youngest of two daughters to Karen and Vince. They grew up in this house and it was a fitting place to start the day. Karen and Vince were great hosts and made me feel really welcome.
The detail on Rosie’s dress was spectacular and by putting it against the light I was able to bring out the detail in the dress.
It was great to work with the award winning wedding hair specialist Julia Nicholls. Julia was lovely to work with and she gave me a lift to church after the initial plans changed 😉 Thank you Julia. While driving down she told me she was planning to retire in a few years so ladies if you are getting married, hurry up before she sails off with her husband to travel the world!!
Isn’t she lovely? Isn’t she wonderful? OK enough with the Stevie Wonder lyrics, but seriously Rosie looked a dream on her big day.
One of my favourite part of weddings is the recessional when the elated couple meet their excited guest outside the churhc. It gives a fantastic opportunity to catch people in their most natural element.
We stopped briefly at Beaumaris Castle to take some photos. The owner kindly gave us permission to use the grounds and even popped down to say hello.
Here are Jonathan’s brothers and sisters with a few extended family members.
Just across the waters is Mount Snowden, one of the highest mountains in the United Kingdom.
Thank you to Rosie and Jonathan for the time they gave me in order to get some portraits of the two of them. We were able to get some nice portraits of the two of them inside the hotel.
Jonathan and his best man taking some well deserved time out. #Cheers
The team at the Bukelely Hotel were pretty awesome. Thanks to Martin for helping the the day run effortlessly.
This shot was taking while they were waiting for their guests to sit down so they could enter. They had a moment to themselves and I was on hand to capture the intimate hug between the newly weds.
Vince and Karen (Rosie’s mum and dad) got married in the same hotel over 20 years ago. How amazing.
The crowd responds to the grooms speech.
Lets all be upstanding and as we propose a toast, might we shout the words #ThisIsAnglesey
Imanol came all the way from Spain to be with his friend on the special day.
I love Pablo’s expression here, moving his hips with the grace of a skilled matador.
Rosie & Jonathan once again a big thank you for trusting and allowing me to be a part of your beautiful celebration, I hope you like the images and if you want to see more just click play to watch the slideshow set to some lovely music. Enjoy.
